Just as everyone has highs and lows in their lives in regards to wellness, Michelle hit her ultimate low in college. In doing what she thought was beneficial to reaching her health goals– more lean and fit– Michelle was actually doing more harm than good. She was over exercising and under nourishing her body. But isn’t that what we are told to do? Eat less and you will weigh less! WRONG! This began Michelle’s journey towards discovering what it means to be truly fit and live a healthy lifestyle.
Michelle began educating herself on nutrition and supplementation. She took numerous courses and trainings that enlightened her on providing proper nourishment for the body. She learned that unfortunately our food can’t not supply us all the vitamins and minerals our bodies need to function properly due to a variety of reasons. As her knowledge and passion continued to grow, she was able to help many individuals start to create better eating habits and incorporate appropriate supplements their body’s’ needed.
Michelle always loved to challenge herself, both physically and mentally. Competitive sports and the gym had always been a part of her life, but she wanted to see how far she could push herself. In 2015, Michelle decided to start training for a bodybuilding competition. This was a monumental turning point for her—she learned what it meant to fuel the body and build specific muscle groups. With the proper training and nutritional guidance, Michelle placed 1st in INBF Novice Figure and 1st in NPC Novice Figure in April 2016. Michelle learned more about herself in that training time than she had in the rest of her years; she discovered new potential, reached beyond her limits and overcame obstacles she never thought existed. She knew she had to share this feeling with the rest of the world. She quickly became certified by the NCCPT in Personal Training and has been changing the health of our nation ever since; one person at a time.
Michelle believes that true health should be a committed lifestyle, not an obligation to the gym. She knows this is a continuous journey that evolves over a lifetime and is dedicated to each client to improve their quality of life and support them in achieving each and every goal. Her clients’ diverse characteristics allows Michelle to incorporate a vast array of exercise and training techniques that not only results in building muscle, increasing strength and improving endurance, but also keeps the workouts invigorating and new, transforming an old “requirement” into a new and fun addiction. Pairing the workouts with meal planning guidance designed specifically for each client has transformed the lives of those she works with on a daily basis. There is no greater feeling to Michelle than the look on someone’s face when they are feeling healthy and achieving their goals, and she strives to see that expression on every person she encounters.
